Jazz trumpet for beginners

Updated: Aug 16, 2022

Hi guys,

Are you a frustrated trumpet player that wants to be able to play jazz and doesn't have any idea where to start?

Well, I can remember those days too!

The two fundamental things you need to have are

  1. Develop jazz vocabulary

There are lots of ways to do this, practice patterns, practice licks, transcribe solos...

But what if you are not at that level yet?

That's why I have created these 'Nice & easy' jazz solos with backing tracks and demo recordings of each etude!

Check out the page here -

www.jazzetudes.net/10-nice-and-easy-jazz-solos-bb-volume-1

This book also comes in Concert pitch, Eb pitch as well as bass clef.

The other is the ability to hear/know the chord changes to the tune you are improvising over (something I teach at my Patreon).

If you would like a free sample solo of Watermelon man (in Bb, Eb, C & bass clef) then simply subscribe to the jazz etudes newsletter, I'll send you it for free!

I also have a link here to a recent video I created on an easy solo of Summertime. Simply follow the links in the description to download and try for free! You don't need to sign up for anything.

Thanks for watching the video, I hope you enjoyed it.

Warm regards, Darren.
